CSI Case File #23

Well my poor blog and scrappin' has been neglected lately!
So where have I been?  I have been working, yep I have anew job and it is great, but it has been a bit of an adjustment after 3 years of self employment.  And I went to Brisbane last weekend to spend time with Leonie - Wedding planning and to see Tim Holtz!!  More on that in another post!
This layout was created for CSI's Case File #23, which is getting in just in time!
It's Imogen and her Turtle Family, which grew by 1 turtle on our return from Brisbane, with 'Darwin' being brought at the airport on the way home.
Below is the Case File we had to use!
I have used all 5 Scheme Colours, with the help of the Co-Ordinates again (the journal tag hidden to the left of the page).
From the 'Evidence' list I have used - 'Flowers' (the big Prima vine, the fussy cut patterened paper, and some other random flowers from my stash) and 'something translucent' (the Tim Holtz Film Strip in the top left corner and also under the photo and also the little clear flower in the bottom right side of the photo).
From the 'Testimony' list I have used 'Alliterative Caption' (my sub heading 'Toadie's Turtles' - Toadie is Imogen nick name, well one of them!) and 'Write a letter' (which is in my hidden journalling - a letter from me to her so she can always remember how much these turtles mean to her).
My hidden journalling is on two tags and reads
Tag 1 - Imogen's turtle family is forever growing. Left to Right, Bottom to Top - Easter Turtle, Stickey, Icky, Darwin, Swirly, Twirly and Shelly.  You love them.
Tag 2 - Dear Imogen, these turtles are special to you, they each have a story.  Stickey came first and is your favorite, Nanny got him at a garage sale.   He goes to school with you, he came to Fiji with us, and you stress if you loose him.  Icky came home from Cairns with Nanny and Pa, she is married to Stickey.  Swirly, Twirly and Shelly you spotted in a Ballet Shop as we walked past and you got all three they had over time.  Easter Turtle came from the Easter Bunny - a request you made and Dad and I can not believe EB found one!  Darwin is the newest turtle and came home with Nanny and I from Brisbane.  I hope you love them always.  Love Mumma.
I hope you like it!

Home and Scrapped - Scrap Whisper

This layout was created for a game of 'Scrap Whispers' over at Home and Scrapped.
I have been unable to share it with you for some time as the game was still going on and I don't want to show it before it's done!!
I was 5th on the list of 9.  So it will be interesting to see how it has changed from the original layout!
I hope you like it!

CSI Case File #21

This layout was created for the CSI Case File #21.  I did not know if I would get this one done on time, as I had not planned any photos or papers for it.  But I spent the day scrappin and making a big batch of sausage rolls, and I managed to find a photo I had printed that would work and some other bits in my stash.
This is the case file we had to use.
I have used all 5 scheme colours.
From the 'Evidence List' I have used: Doilies (Botton left corner, sprayed in the Raspberry Fondant Colour), Flowers (Prima Flowers Bottom left corner), Wavy Border (my scalloped green pp at the base of the photo), Layers/Tiers (my Heavenly Heart made by Charms Creations bottom left corner), Stripes (on the green wavy pp at the base of the photo) and Pins (from D-Lish Scraps in the button center of the flower) Phew!!
From the 'Testimony List' I have used: 2 perspectives as my journalling prompt.  I have journalled my thoughts on the photo of my daughter (Imogen 6 years) and I reading together in my bed and hers.  To her reading in bed is just fun and a way to prolong going to her own bed!  To us it is educational and a family tradition.
My journalling reads: 'We have read with the kids since before they where born.  It is something we do as a family and I think it has helped them form a love of books like I have'.
Imogen's Jouranlling reads: 'I like reading in bed with Mum, Dad and Ethan it's fun'.
It's the first time Imogen has written on my layouts and she was pretty chuffed about being aloud to!
I hope you like it!

Scrappy Sketches #21

This is my layout that I have created for Heather's Scrappy Sketches #21.  I can not wait until next weekend, as I am flying to Brisbane to go wedding dress shopping with Leonie, see Tim Holtz at the Scrapbook and PaperCraft Expo, and also I will get to meet a few of the ladies including Heather (who are holding a retreat) from Home & Scrapped (a great little scrappy forum!).
I have used loads of bits and pieces from my stash, a handmade flower made with fabric from the op shop and the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral dies, some Kaiser flowers, D-Lish Scraps velvet flower and green ribbon and Purple Pumpkin Buttons and felt flower.
I hope you like it!

Tim's Tags 2012 - May

I have been working on this tag all month, and have been slowing completing it's elements.  I have ordered some of the hanger clips from Ebay, but they are taking forever to get here (I guess it had to happen once!), so I only have 8 hours left to get it uploaded!!  Hopefully they arrive in todays mail, or i'll be uploading it without it!  UPDATE - It's still not here, so I am uploading it with a normal paper clip and i'll replace the photo when it arrives!
I love it!  I have not got a melting pot so I adapted a bit while making my faux porcelain flowers, which was hazardous , but it working and a melting pot is high on my wish list.
I did not have the exact stamp set Tim used, but the smaller version, so I used part of the sewing pattern with the logo and instructions instead of the blue stamped image.
I also did not have the tape ribbon of Tim's so I used a tape ribbon from my stash, then sewed a zipper over the top.  I got a box of zippers and cotton reels from my Nan while cleaning her house (why she has then I don't know, she would not sew or replace a zipper!!)
My cotton reel also came from that box, but when I pulled the old cotton from it, I discovered it was made from polystyrene!  So much easier to cut than wood!  Perfect.  I wound it with baker's twine.
I have used a cabochon and holder (from D-Lish Scraps) for the dandling bit and inside is a piece of Graphic 45 Steam Punk Debutante Paper.
I also had to use a regular sized pin, which I embossed with Walnut Stain Powder.
Below is my tag...
 I hope you like it!
