Challenge Heaven - Simon's Misting/Masking Technique

This layout was created for Challenge Heaven, Simone's May Technique challenge, which was to use misting/masking.
I have had this photo sitting around for a while, and I am glad I waited until now to use it, the bright Glimmer Mist, masking and the bright embellies really work.
I have used a heap of Glimmer Mist colours and a Glimmer Screen, which I have misted over and then used a reverse mask technique to create the opposite effect.
I have also used a D-Lish Scraps Cabochon, Lime Tree Creations Lolly Pop, and a Lil Red Rocket Owl Button.
i have also dug out my Sew Easy tool and actually used it!
I hope you like it!

Challenge Heaven - Donna's May Quote Challenge

This layout was created for Donna's Movie/Song Quote Challenge, over at Challenge Heaven.
As soon as I saw this I knew which photos I wanted to use, the ones from James' work Christmas party last year.  We had to dress up and James went as one of Clint Eastwood's characters.
I used some papers from Tina's, then when i was at the Picture to Page Show last weekend I found the October Afternoon Sasparilla and this really made my page work.
We had to use a homemade item on the layout, mine is the bullseye/star circle.  I made it my cutting two circles from leather (found in the op shop) and topped with a sticker and a brad.
I have used an old Page Map (Feb 2009) to base this layout off.
I hope you like it!

CSI Case File #20

This layout is too late for uploading, but at least I got it finished!!  It was for the CSI Case File #20.  I loved these colours and the inspiration image, but time fell short!
Below is the case file we had to use:
I have used all 5 of the Scheme colours.
From the 'Evidence list' I have used 'Mushrooms' (the wooden mushroom button and the image from the CSI Co-Ordinates), 'Insects/Bugs' (the snail on the CSI Co-Ordinates), 'White Space' (the area to the right side of the layout) and 'Paint Drops' (the Marshmallow Glimmer Mist drops scattered on the page).
From the 'Testimony List' I have used the Inspiration Word - Cute for my hidden journalling (hidden tto the left of the photo.  It reads "Imogen and I got invited to Jasmine's Deb Ball.  It was a wonderful night and Jas looked stunning.  Imogen looked cute in her outfit - just for the Ball and it even matched the cute decorations!"

If you read my scrap tally, you will notice that I have jumped a number in my layouts, that is not a mistake, but the missing layout is one created for a forum game of 'Scrap Whispers'.  I hope I can show you it soon!
I hope you like it!

Tim's Tags 2012 - March

So today I am making some progress on my '12 Tags of 2012' I finished my March tag.
The tag below is Tim's original version (go to his blog for full instructions on making this tag).  I never had the wood grain stamp, so I used a Prima flourish background stamp, and it was showing up well in the back ground until I sprayed on the mist (my mini mister was not working so I grabbed a garden sprayer, and it sprayed too much and the background got lost in the 'glimmer'.  It can still be seen if you look really hard, but not as nice as I would have liked!  I have re-stamped the flourish stamp with Timber Brown Stayzon and now you can see the pattern better, but I still like the woodgrain effect of Tim's stamp.
 Below is my version.
I hope you like it!

Tim's Tags 2012 - February

I was upset to read earlier this year (MUCH earlier this year!!) that Tim was giving up his '12 Tags of Christmas' and I fully understand his reasons for switching it to '12 Tags of 2012', but I have been really unmotivated lately and I look at them each month, but don't get the itch.
Well that changed this month, maybe it was me getting a seat in Tim's class  (so so so excited about this!), but I have found myself once again using my scraps and supplies to create the tags.
The above tag is Tim's original version (his blog has full instructions to make this tag!), I got myself some honeycomb paper and have to say I love it, although I did kill my first heart made, by putting my cutting matt on it by accident!
The below tag is mine and you can see I have had to use a few different things to create my tag, but overall I am happy with the result, just annoyed that it has taken my 4 months to get inspired to do it!
I hope you like it!

This layout was created for Heather's Scrappy Sketches #20.
A double layout with 10 photos!!  Yuck!!!
But a great way to use some of the photos that are less important from our holiday to Fiji last year.
I did love making it, and am happy with the result.
I hope you like this layout!

Scrappy Sketches #19

Here is my layout for Heather's Scrappy Sketch #19.  The next sketch is a double and has 10 photos, so I am challenging myself to use all 10 photos.  Scary!!
I have been and visited Tina over at Treasures to Scrap and got some new papers to use.
I hope you like it!

CSI Case File #19

This layout was created for CSI's Case File #19.  I loved these colours and found the layout very easy to come together!
I have used all 5 Scheme Colours.
From the Evidence List I have used Rosettes (made with my Tim Holtz Sizzix die), Birds (my Purple Pumpkin Blue Bird Button), Wood (my branch and leaves chippie), White Wash/Gesso (Around the edges of the page and on the alphas), Florals (my big Purple Pumpkin felt flower and smaller rosettes).
From the Testimony List I have used the Top 10 List and made a list of the top 10 books we read to our kids in bed, or they read to us.
I hope you like it.

CSI Case File #18

Here is my layout for CSI's Case File #18 Challenge.
I am really happy with how this one turned out.  Even if it is a little more 'full' than I normally scrap!
I have used the last of my Lil Red Rocket Birdie Buttons.  A paper doily and lace have been Glimmer Misted to match the Scheme colours.
I have used all 5 Scheme Colours, I really enjoyed this palette even if it was a test for me.
From the 'Evidence List' I have used: 'Bloomers' - Kaiser's Ribbon Roses, Glimmer Misted with  a pale grey, 'Flowers' - Assorted Prima and Kaiser Resin flowers, 'Leaves' - Prima Leaves and 'Bling' - The Sparkle and Soft 'mimosa' added to my bird cage die cut and the Distress Stickles added to the butterfly cut from paper.
From the "Testimony List' I have used 'add flowers to your journalling' and just so you know where it is my hidden journalling pulls out from the left hand side of the page and has the seam binding bow and small flowers attached.  The journalling tells the story of the 'tree cubby house' she is playing in.

I hope you like it.

Kerri's May Challenge - Use your Stash!

This layout was created for Kerri's May Challenge at Challenge Heaven, which was to use your stash with scraps of patterned papers.
I don't have a lot of paper scraps as I give them to the kid's school to use in before and after school care, or I use them on cards.
So I have used only two sheets of patterned paper to create the woven strips and some small scraps for one of the photo matts (the other was the back side of the strip paper) and the journal and title block.
This is a photo I have wanted to use for some time of my Grum and Auntie Yvonne, but fund the photo hard to use because of the amount of colours in the photo.
I have used some Prima flowers and bling, Purple Pumpkin Heart (the white felt has been tea dyed), and some habby scraps cut from bigger items.
I got the idea from a friends Australia's Scrapbook Ideas magazine, a layout by Cleo Jarvis.

I hope you like it!

Scrappy Sketches #17

I only got this one layout done at Tina's yesterday, my Mum, Jean and Ness came over with me , so I think we (I) talked too much!
This layout was created for Heather's Scrappy Sketches blog, sketch number #17.
I have used a lot of yellow which is not a colour I normally use, but needed to with these photos.
I hope you like it!

Scrappy Sketches #16

My last layout I got completed at Tina's yesterday was this one for Heather's Scrappy Sketches Blog, it is Sketch #16.
It is from her Prep concert last year, she really hammed it up on stage and we had tears rolling down our faces laughing at her actions to the songs they where singing!
I have used some Kaiser Cock-a-doodle-doo papers and bits, some hand made denim rolled flowers, one of Tina's String flowers and a few Lime Tree Creations flowers.
I hope you like it!

CSI Case File #17 - Early for once!

So working at Tina's has perks, I have actually finished a CSI Case File (first in a LONG time) before the new Case File went up!
These are some old photos from our first trip to Queensland with the kids, we went to Movie World, but the kids where too little for most rides, much to Ethan's disappointment.
From the Evidence List I have used: "Circles (my buttons)", "Stars (in the yellow pp and punched near the journal block)" and "Pen Work (doodled lines around the yellow and teal pp).
From the Testimony List I have used: "Write your journalling in a circle."
I hope you like it!

CSI Case File #16 - Better Late than Never!!

I had this mostly done by the dead line, but it was just not going to happen in time, so I pushed it away!  I have been helping Tina out at her shop for two days this week, so I actually got this layout and two others done, bonus!  But my hand was sore afterwards.
James had these old un-printed rolls of film he took in to get printed recently, they where not much good and the colours are so-so, but I forgot we had even taken these photos!
So this is my late CSI Case File #16 layout!
From the Evidence List I have used - "Sparkly Things (the Stickles on my title)", "Shiny Things (the pearl flourishes)", "Stacked Elements (the Heavenly Heart from Charms Creations)" and "Metallic Paper (Bazzill Bling for the background)".
From the Testimony List I have used - "Write a six-word memoir".
I hope you like it.
