Hybrid Cybercrop Part 4

Finally, nothing like leaving it to the last minute! My final Cybercrop challenge at Hybrid was for Maria. Her challenge was a 12345 challenge which involved
1. Must use a song or lyrics with love in the it.
2. Use 2 different alphabets.
3. Use 3 colours on the layout.
4. Use 4 pieces of ribbon, any size
5. Have at least 5 different embellishments, one being a tag.

My Canvas

We finally got to do our canvas class with the very talented Nic Finlayson on Sunday. What a scrapped out weekend this has been, Cindy's class on Friday night, cards on Saturday and then canvas on Sunday! Plus trying to get the challenges done for Hybrids Cyber Crop and Survivor.

Hybrid Designs Feb Cyber Crop Challenges

Kym's February Challenge

Mini Challenge for Scrapbook Survivor

Mother Nature must be mad

Tonight the sky was an eerie pink/purple out our front door and orange out the back.

Scrapbooking Survivor Challenge 3

Our third challenge at Hybrid's Scrapbook Survivor was to think outside the square and alter something from around the house. I have made myself a Pin cushion using a small dish I had in my cupboard. I am proud of myself I have not used any paper!!!

I have doubled the butterfly stamp on the acetate, so it is 'poping' off the side (very technical I know!!)

Fire Photo's from Yesterday


Yesterday has to be one of the scariest days of my life. I was so happy the kids were in Moe with James' Parents and safe. I had all my albums, kids momento boxes, wedding and birth certificates packed next to the door just in case.

The fires came close, and we were lucky to get the wind change or the fire would have come straight for us, but I feel really bad saying that because it means people like Samantha had their houses in the direct path of the fire.


The glow was just eerie, simply eerie. There are no other ways to describe it, the orange glow, the smoke billowing in the sky, the leaves and chunks of wood falling from the sky like confetti, and the smell of smoke.

When the high danger had well passed, James, went to get the kids only to find the roads out of Warragul were blocked due to a grass fire! It took until after midnight for us to be able to get the kids. But we were not prepared to spend the night without them.

My photo is from 2007, the kids had a photo day at ABC creche, and I wanted to have a photo done of the two kids together. When they arrived back, the coordinator asked me to approve the photos (something to do with that I paid for this one, where as the single child photos where free) I said I don't care, the kids never take nice photos together. Then she pulled out the photo, I nearly cried, it was the nicest photo I have ever had of these two.

Ethan's First Day at School


Ethan had his first day at school on Tuesday, at Warragul North Primary. He looks so tiny in his uniform. But very cute (although he wouldn't want me to say that - Handsome he tells me. He is loving school and his teacher Mrs. Fusinato. He will know which house he is in soon, I am so excited about school sports he will love them. He is a very athletic boy (gets this from Dad!!)

Last Challenge for January

The final challenge for January on Hybrid Designs Scrapbooking, was to scrap about Summer weather in your area. As the weather has been fairly normal here, I have decides to scrap about the Orb spiders that only come out during Summer nights. The kids have really started to notice them this year, the spider in the photo is called 'Charlie', they love to watch her of a night time rebuild the days damage to her web.
