Australia Day Weekend at Phillip Island

We went to Phillip Island to pick up the kids on Sunday, Mum and Dad had hired a friends holiday house, and took the kids. So we had a night off!! After we picked the kids up we took them to Seal Rocks (I think it's called Nobbies now). They even walked most of the way along the board walk. They even saw a penguin.
Imogen was too cool to walk along with us and walked in front with her hands in her pockets. How much attitude can one small girl have!
Ethan love watching the waves crash on the rocks, especially how they went through the 'tunnel'

I got tagged by Marie, here is the info:

This photo is so old, can you tell, Ethan is a school boy now!!! This photo was taken at James work, when he worked for Don Kyatts at Traralgon, we would go and visit him to have Hungry Jacks for lunch, it was the only time we had it, so a good excuse to see him!!

So 6 people to tag...Humm Marie took most fellow bloggers
1. Nerine because I enjoy visiting her blog.
2. Maree G because she is a fellow team mate on Scrapbook Survivor (and she needs a new post)
3. Maree because she is a fellow team mate on Scrapbook Survivor

100 post and lots of Creating

Well I have had the best weekend! I got heaps done! And I spent alot of time out of the house too. I am giving myself a big pat on the back!!
I finished off another 2 creations last night and started a third, I only went to bed because James was getting cranky at 11.45pm, grumbling something about people who have to work early!
My first project is a card which I have made for two challenges, I have used Nerine's sketch, although I fell really bad as none is Stampin Up. I have also made this card for the Cuttlebug Challenge blog The challenge for this week was to use your favorite embossing folder, I only have 3 so far, and the birds is my favorite.

To make this card I have used red, green and beige bazzil, some ribbon (where I took my colours from) Sepia Archival ink, Autumn Leaves bird stamp, and the birds embossing folder.

My second creation for the night is my White with 1, challenge for January, the requirements where white, turquoise, and flourishes.

I have used a photo of Immy when we had her photo taken as a mermaid, white bazzil, turquoise cardstock, basic grey urban prairie paper, lagoon blue versa colour ink, shell chipboard, glimmermist, flower and starfish embellishments, doddlebug alphas and white flocking. I have used a sketch from Direct 2 you.

*Assorted red, black and white ribbons
*Red, White and Black cardstock

I also created a layout for one of the design team member, Ann's challenge on Hybrid Designs Scrapbooking. If you have not checked out this forum you really must they have some great things happening. Last might was a free online mini book class, well worth the time to register ladies! Ann's challenge for January was to use Scrapbooking product packaging in your layouts, a money saver, how awesome. I have used...

*Kraft cardstock*Paper flower
*Heidi Swapp masks - Tulip, dots and the circle (which is not yet released we were just lucky to get it at Create 08)
*Doodlebug alpha
*Pink flocking
*Black and white dot 'ribbon' from Heidi Swapp packaging
*Freeze verb from the back of the packet. (So potentially you could get two of each 'sticker)

Scrapbook Survior

I have signed myself up for "Scrapbook Survior" on bit scared the challenges start today. I have never watched the TV show, but have had friends who watched it and always talked about it, so I have some idea of how it worked, if they run it similar. I wonder how long before I get kicked off!! Sooner rather than later I think!!!
Just a quick update I am on the Kanzan tribe and Marie is on the Hanami tribe, ohh no we are cometing against each other!!

Scraggy Aggy

Another layout, this time for Black Magic The challenge was a sketch, which I have flipped upside down. Plus to use the colours White, Pink and Turquoise, and black of course, and the technique was rubons.

I have done mine on Imogen at Pirate Day last year, we named her Scraggy Aggy, and for someone who kept saying she didn't want to be a pirate "I'm a Princess Fairy Girl, not a Pirate" she loved it.

I have used black cardstock, turquoise cardstock, Basic Grey Urban Prairie morning glory and petticoat patterned paper, Rusty Pickle Pirate Princess rubons, Heidi Swapp Alphabet Stamps, White Staz On, paper flowers, white kaisercraft pearls, big turquoise button, white pearl hearts.

Hope you like!

Cuttlebug Challenge - Mostly White

It is fitting that this weeks challenge was to create a mostly white card, and James chooses to announce a wedding this weekend for his work mate - perfect!

I have made a Criss Cross Card using white cardstock, embossed it with the blooming dots folder. Added white grossgrain ribbon, and a Jolees By You Wedding Cake. The inside is silver with a tab I have made using a dot from the folder, more grossgrain and a silver brad.

Very simple and affective, but I did have help from the wonderful Sandie Downie for this one! She makes the bestest (yes that is a word!!) cards

In their Eyes Layout

The second layout I have made today is "it's in their Eyes" I adore this photo of Imogen and Pa from our wedding. We have always had comments about how alike they are, but this photo just took my breath away, they have the same eyes and expressions!
This was created fro the January Sketch Challenge at the Scrapbook Establishment

I have used... ColorMates dark fairytale pink cardstock, ColorMates Light Luscious Lime Cardstock, ColorMates lime family velum, Basic Grey two scoops Creme brulee paper, Pink Paislee green apple pixie stick glitter, white brads, my beloved Slice Machine with the Basic Shapes 2 Design Card, Heidi Swapp Apple Pie white rubons, Basic Grey butterfly stamp, See D's Memoris stamp set, Versa Mark Ink.

I don't think it shows up well in the photo but the butterflies wings are spread like they are flying. Hope you like it!

Spider Boy Layout

Well I think my mojo is back! After several days of paper pushing, I have finished of two (almost three) layouts today. I just wish I didn't have to go to work this afternoon!
This layout is titled Spider boy, and is made using a sketch from the January Challenge at Scrapbooking Top 50 forum

I have used red cardstock, blue cardstock, yellow paper, the stripes were scraps and I am unsure which brand they are. I have used my Slice Machine and the Spellbound Design Card to make my spider. I was told it had to be a red back! The title is nice and subtle blue on blue, Heidi Grace Spectrum alphabets, a blue book title and red brads.

New Blog Award - Proximity Award

I just popped over to Sandie's Blog and saw she has awarded me with a new blog award, thanks Sandie.

"These blogs believe and invest in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers, who must choose eight more and include this cleverly written text into the body of their awards".

And in celebration of the continuing friendship and support that I have been fortunate to come across I am passing the award on to these beautiful and inspiring women
I guess passing onto 4 is better than none!

Nerine's Tuesday Card Sketch

Nerine's is a stampin up lady whose blog I have stumbled across in blog land. She has started a Tuesday weekly sketch challenge. I don't have many stampin up stamps (yet ;) anyway!). Hears my interpretation of her sketch, I have flipped it. The cardstock is all stampin up, the flower stamp is stampin up, the greeting stamp is friskars, and the green bling is kaiser. Thanks Nerine I enjoy visiting your blog!

Sunday at Inverlock

We spent a family morning on Sunday at Inverlock beach. The kids had so much fun combing the rock pools. They loved finding all the sea life, we say lots of different starfish, sea stars, crabs, tiny tiny flatheads, sea slugs, sea snails, plus heaps of other sea life.

Then after some hard work looking through the rock pools, the kids had a swim in the beach. Then we went to Leongatha for lunch we found a quiet little park, and it had a spider web!!

Some Recent Creations

I have had some scrapping time today. I did 1 layout and a double page layout for my book of me.
The page I created today was "ouch". I have used some blue paper, which I have sanded to take some shine off. The burgundy cardstock is Stampin up, blue patterned paper, the burgundy stripes is Creative Imaginations Captain Jack (I think). I have sewn around the edges.

I love this photo Ethan was so proud of his hurt, until we went to hospital and the nurse tried to clean it.
Another pages I have done in December. Gossip Girl is so cute I love these colours and they all match in with Imogen's nightie. I think the ring she has put on herself matches in with the page perfectly.

The last page is Angel. Love this layout. The sketch is from Scrapbook hub. I have used some of my favorite paper Basic Grey!!

Possible Future Career

This was how Imogen spent Christmas Eve, serving everyone chips and nuts.
Look at how she is holding the bowl, no one even showed that to her. Is this a sign of a future waitress in the making?

Cuttlebug Challenge #12

Now that I have my own Cuttlebug I have decided to take part in the Cuttlebug Challenges Blog This week's challenge was to use an embossing folder then sand it.
I have used Black Magic Cardstock. Which with the combination of embossing and sanding has showed the blue hidden colour well. Pink and turquoise cardstock. I have cut a 3" Scalloped square using my Slice Machine and the Animal Crackers Design Card. I have used a plain white piece of paper and used a Heidi Swapp Bird Mini mask to create the branches. I have used Shabby Shutters and Broken China Distress Inks. The bird I cut from a Basic Grey Urban Prairie paper. The stamp is a Fiskars one.

I hope you like it!

Another Layout

I just got this sketch done last night. Only to find out I could not enter as I needed the forum administrator to register my registration. Oh well at least I got another lot of photos scrapped! The sketch is from 123 Scrapbook.
I have used photos that Marie took while the kids were decorating gingerbread houses that Fiona made. The kids had such a great time. What kind of a scrapbooker forgets to take a camera to something like that. Lucky for me Marie, Nicole and Mum all had their camera's (oh plus Fiona's camera.) Immy did her tartrum because I wouldn't let her eat the chocolate Santa in her lolly bowl, Nic got a great photo of the tantrum too.

Black and white is not a colour scheme I would normally scrap. But I really like this layout.
