Can you tell what I am doing Tonight

Going out drinking with friends, NO, I am home scrapping away the night. I stumbled across Scrapbooking Top 50 forum the other day. They have a section listing all Australian sketch competitions, so it has got my attention, and my creativity flowing. The first project I have have completed is a card sketch from 'Fireside Crafts' http://www.firesidecrafts.com.au/ I have created a Friendship card (had to include a flourish from my Slice Machine, basic shapes 3 design card. Loving this machine, well worth the wait and money!! I have used it sooo much the blade has already been replaced! Plus I am in dire need of more glue (Hint Hint Marie!!)
I love the colors the chocolate brown, green and pink.

My second creation for the night is a Layout I have made using a sketch from '123 Scrapbook' http://www.123scrapbook.com.au. The challenge was to use 3 photos, a large title and doodling. If you know me you will know doodling is not my most favorite scraping theme! I have simply made a scroll page border and main photo border. Sorry for the REALLY crap photo, James took this (I think I was pushing my luck - he would usually never give me a photo like this!!)

Off to see if I can pull off a few more layouts before the new year!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas everyone. I am so lucky Ethan and Imogen are still in bed asleep at 7.41am on Christmas Day, I thought they might have been up really early this year.
Have a great day filled with good food and good company be it family or friends.

Christmas in Melbourne

On Sunday we went into Melbourne and spent the afternoon seeing the Christmas sights in the City. Ethan was in his element, Immy got bored fast especially waiting to see the windows. We walked through Burke Street Mall and watched the buskers, Ethan's and my favorite was this man who was dressed as a Santa statue, he just slightly moved his fingers at Ethan when he put money in his hat.
Check Spelling
Then they had a ride on the Santa train at Myers . This was the first year Imogen has been able to have a ride. While we waited the ride when 3 times around the track. The train the kids went on only went once so we never got good photos.

After the train we went to see the Mirabel tree. Ethan loved showing James that it talks when you press the hand. Then it was Hungary Jacks for tea.
Then we went to Federation Square to see the advent calender and the birds in the atrium. Immy liked the fish in the wall best.

Then we went back to Myer to see if the window line had gotten any smaller, which it had not! But it didn't take us long to get to the windows. Ethan loved them, Immy was a bit over them because she had seen enough while waiting in the line. She enjoyed dancing while we waited to the music playing over the speakers. We also brought the book "How Santa Really Works" so now Ethan thinks elves are hiding everywhere watching him.

We then jumped on a tram, our feet had done heaps of walking, and went to see the Crown show, it was packed! Then home or the day, and even after such a big day the kids didn't sleep on the way home, they where just so excited.

Heidi Swapp Ohh My God...

Heidi Swapp's Create 08 was on Tuesday, and I simply loved it, apart from all the stuff we worked on and received (I have a new love Distress Inks) I gained confidence in my scrapping ability and confidence in myself as a worthy scrapper.

Ethan's last day of Kinder

How bitter sweet. It has been a great year for Ethan at Kinder he has grown and learnt so much. I am so happy with the kinder and can not wait for Immy to go in two years time. They had a Russian Christmas Celebration, in which the kids sang carols in English and other languages.

Disney Desperate Housewives

While searching for an image I found this...

For those of you who know me, you know I am a Desperate Housewives freak. LOVE IT!!!

Pernickety Challenge

The Challenge for this week was to create as many small pieces of art you could with one photo. I have created 3 Twinchies, 3 Inchies and 2 Moos(don't you just feel crazy talking like that!!) I could have maybe got more out of my photo, but I wanted the bauble that said Merry Christmas on a Twinchie. More Christmas Tags,!

Moos for Artilicious

They might be late, but at least I got them done. I have used a photo of babbles, pink cardstock, Karen Foster paper and Making Memories rubons. Very cute gift tags I think.

Sandie's Place Sketch #9

I have gone very vintage this week with Sandie's Sketch! I love the idea of a ATC and Inchie on a card. I have used Basic Grey Wassail French Hen (reverse) paper inked with pinecone,a vintage Christmas image is my ATC, which I have sanded, inked and distressed the edges. My inchie is a square of navy paper, sanded and sprayed with Creme de Cocoa Glimmermist, the ribbon is made from Basic Grey Wassail Spiced tea paper, and an antique brass brad i have inked the edges in pinecone ink. I have added believe as the sentiment the stamp is from Snag'em Stamps Snowy Jo Collection.

Ethan's 2nd Prep Visit

On Tuesday Ethan had his second visit to his school for next year. He even wore his uniform. He looked so small! They made hats that said "I went to school today" Ethan was so happy when I dropped him off and even more when I picked him up. He never cared that I left, which was great, but Mum was a little sad her baby boy is getting independent. We then had to have a rush lunch and he was off to Kinder for the afternoon. I wish I had have thought to take the photo before I took his uniform off!!

Bad To The Bone

My darling daughter spends a lot of her day on the naughty chair some days. Maybe I need to get her a less comfy chair! I think she had worked herself up so much (as only the cranky pants herself can) and the time out was all she needed to finally crash. I do love this photo.

Melbourne Shopping Day

I spent the day in Melbourne with Mum and the kids. I wanted to take the kids to the Santa Land at Myer and have a ride on the Santa train, and see the windows. Well we did NONE!! The line for the windows was about 3 hours wait, the Santa line equally long and the train was not running until after midday! I was not happy, but we still had a good day. Plus Nicole took some good photo's on Saturday of the kids with Santa, she did really well considering Imogen has ran away from Santa when ever she has seen him this year.

We did see the Crown Christmas show,

the big Christmas tree (that talks! Ethan was so excited), and Nannie and the kids had a ride on the "Short Family Carousel"
which was built in Germany in 1878. One man said to Mum after they got off the ride "That was a big horse for such a little Girl". I felt like saying to him, try telling her that!

Busy, busy!!

What a week! The weather might not fit "normal Christmas" weather, but it is the silly season! This week has just been insane! Monday night we had class at Simply Said http://mariesheil.typepad.com/said_simply/. It was our bird page for our bug book. Tuesday was just silly, I had to start early and the local paper which was due out never came out until the next day so everyone was peeved and taking it out on us. Wednesday I missed our Chat and Create session at Simply Said, so I did the Decoration class with Nic that night, got home completely buggered only to have to take Ethan to Casualty with shortness of breath and wheezing. But we didn't have to wait we where taken straight in and Ethan was diagnosed with Asthma, which we have always thought he could progress to.
Thursday morning was spent divided between the hospital and Doctors, before I dragged myself off to work (feeling really tired and down because I have the flu!!) I took Friday off work, took the Kids to creche and went to the Fiskars sale in Port Melbourne. Got some great bargains!! Which cheered me up substantially!!! James was checking the phone messages when we got home and said "if James' will let you out" I gave him a puzzled look and listened to the message. Which was Marie inviting me to a casual create night at the shop. Which was just what I needed so off I went again (The house has been very empty and neglected this week!!).
So I started my Scrappers Journal. I am loving it. I hope to have it ready to take to Heidi Swapp later this month so I can get her to sign it. Then Saturday was spent at Simply Said for their Christmas Chaos Day. We had a very full day and a lot of very happy Scrappers and Children by the end. Marie took some cute photos of my cherubs making their Gingerbread. She has a great photo of Immy on her blog http://mariesheil.typepad.com/said_simply/.

Pernickety's Challenge

Marie's challenge over at Pernickety this week was to make a card with baubles, layers and Bling. I liked the sound of this challenge, only one problem I could not find all my craft bits and the silly season has started and we had two break up parties this weekend. So I have two sugar high children who are counting down till Christmas already!!
I have used some green cardstock as my base (I think its Stampin Up), white cardstock, We R Memory Keepers White Out paper and rub ons. Plus stickles(Samantha is rubbing this off on me - I am using more since we get together frequently) and blue eyelets so the person who gets the card can hand it if they like.

On another note, I am very lucky to have James at the moment he has made me a frame for my Advent Calender. So it has really been a joint effort to finish it. I will post a photo once I have finished painting it.

Sandie's12Days Number 11

The eleventh card's requirement was to use a scallop.

Sandie's 12 Day Number 10

The challenge for today was to use a chipboard frame. I have taken this literally and made my card from a chipboard frame, so that after the card has been given, the recipient has a lovely photo frame.

Sandie's Card Number 9

This card's requirement was to use wire and/or beads.

I really like this idea but following today's luck I can not find my beads!! I am really in need of some good luck!

Sandie's 12 Days Number 8

The requirements for card eight was to use fabric.
The Santa has a felt hat trim and beard.
Fabric is a real challenge for me and I do not own any so I was happy to find this Santa.

Just not my day

Do you ever feel like nothing goes right, well this has been my week I think! A while ago I could not find my blades for my creative memories circle cutters, well I found them and tonight I wanted to use them, guess what I know where the blades are, but I can not find the circles!! I tell you no words can tell you how mad I am!
Plus on Saturday I managed to drop my mobile phone in the toilet. I could never figure out how people did it, but guess what it was really stupidly easy, luckily I was able to resurrect my phone, but eww!!
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day!!

Sandie's 12 Days of Christmas day 4

Another quick card from scraps, the requirements were to use 4 squares.

Bad Girls Pre Challenge #2

Marie found a American site offering 22 free Christmas classes. There are 5 out at the moment and I have done 1!! Oh well, I just can't keep up with everything. This workshop was a Christmas Candy/Cookie Bag. Super easy to make, they only use 1/2 a 12x12!
I have used Stampin' Up Cardstock, Basic Grey Paper, Ribbon (Which I sprayed with Creme de cocoa Glimmer mist, but my board I use to spray on had heaps of Ruby Red G/M on it and it ran into the ribbon as well, so it is a custom colour LOL!!) Green RicRac, Green Grosgrain, a ruby red G/M flower, a cream flower and a green brad which I have stickled. The edges I have inked with pinecone.

Sandies 12 Days of Christmas Day 3

Day three's challenge was to use 3 Christmas trees. I have also added 3 French Hens. All made from scraps in my stash!

Sandie's Twelve Days Of Christmas

Card One- A Partridge in a Pear Tree...

Card Two - Two patterned papers and two tags. The second patterned paper is on the tag stamped love. It is red with stars, hard to see, sorry. I like the idea of the song "Twelve Days of Christmas" so I am trying to put the items in as well. Just to add extra pressure!! Like I need it LOL!!

Mail Art

Well at least I am quicker this week!! My mail art is a plain white envelope, which I have done a very technical thing to... bubble blown LOL!! You know like the kids do, you put some dish liquid and food colour in a bowl of water and blow into the water to create bubbles, then press the paper on top, very technical indeed. I have stamped it with Basic Grey stamps, and added some rhinestones, for extra bling. Then finished it with a "Enjoy" sentiment.
Australia Post couldn't loose this letter!

My Spidy Son

I wonder how long before we end up in casualty ward at hospital?

Ever since he has gone Spiderman or "Spidy" as Ethan likes to call him! He has been climbing the veranda, the walls, doing jumps off the couch and his bed head!! This all spells a broken arm or leg, and lots of tears to me. But what can a mere Mum tell a Superhero??
